What the Bible Says About Ostriches and Sneezing

Tidbits from Job... I didn't know that ostriches are lacking in the brains department, but 39:17 states that "God has made her forget wisdom and given her no share in understanding." Poor ostrich. :(

The passage about Leviathan is pretty familiar to most of us, but I had forgotten all about his dramatic sneezes... 41:18 states that "His sneezings flash forth light." I'd seriously like to see that.

I've been enjoying reading over and over the last several chapters of Job for the past week or two. Today, after reading chapters 38-42 again, I went out to do some errands, and found myself giddy over the beauty of the day. I thanked God for His sovereignty over creation - commanding the sun and moon, setting the stars in their place, sending rain, directing thunder and lightening, giving the bird its song, creating each animal in just the way He wants.

In the end, "Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer You? I lay my hand on my mouth... I know that You can do all things, and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted." (40:4-5, 42:2) Praise the Lord it is so!
